Am I investing in the business?
No. You are making a reward-based contribution. You get the reward you chose and the business gets the money — there is no ownership, interest or financial return of any kind.
What happens if the campaign misses its goal?
The business keeps what it raised and should still deliver the rewards that were claimed. A goal is a target, not a condition.
When am I charged?
Card payments are being connected. Right now your pledge is recorded as a commitment, nothing is charged, and the owner reaches out to collect it.
Who sends me my reward?
The business owner. Pledzy does not hold, ship or fulfil rewards. Timing is set by the owner on the campaign page.
Can I change or cancel a pledge?
Contact the owner directly — since nothing has been charged yet, most changes are simple to sort out between you.
Where can I see everything I have backed?
Your backing page lists every campaign you supported, what you pledged, what was collected, and the status of each reward.
For business owners
What does it cost to launch?
Nothing. Pledzy keeps 5% of each pledge — 3% for verified nonprofits — plus card processing of 2.9% + 30¢ per pledge. No listing, monthly or withdrawal charges.
How long does review take?
A reviewer reads every campaign before it goes public. You will see its status as In review on your dashboard, and you will either be approved or sent back with a note.
What kind of business can raise?
Any local business: food and drink, retail, services, trades, health and wellness, tech and software, creative and media, and nonprofits.
How long should my campaign run?
Most run 30 to 45 days. Long enough to build momentum, short enough to create urgency. You can extend or close early from your dashboard.
What makes a good reward?
Something only you can give: your coffee, your class, your product early, your name on the wall. Small tiers at $10 and $25 bring in the most backers.
How do I see who backed me?
Your campaign manager lists every backer, the amount, the reward claimed, any note they left, and whether the payment has been collected.
