Trust and safety

Every campaign is reviewed before it is published, businesses can verify their documents, and backers are told plainly what they are and are not getting.

Every campaign is reviewed

  1. 1
    Submitted, not published

When an owner finishes the builder, the campaign goes into a review queue. It stays off browse, the hubs and its own public page until a reviewer approves it.

  2. 2
    Checked by a person

A reviewer reads the story, the goal, the rewards and the fund breakdown to make sure they are clear, realistic and honest.

  3. 3
    Approved or sent back

Approved campaigns go live immediately. Anything unclear is returned to the owner with a note explaining what to change.

Business verification

Owners can verify their business from their dashboard by uploading their registration, a license, a tax document, a photo ID and proof of their bank details. Documents are stored privately — only the owner and a reviewer can open them. Once approved, the business gets a verified badge on every campaign.

What backers should know

  • Backing is a reward-based contribution, not an investment.
  • You receive no ownership, interest, profit or financial return.
  • Rewards are created and fulfilled by the business owner, not by Pledzy.
  • A business may miss its goal, be delayed, or be unable to deliver a reward.
  • Because businesses keep what they raise, money can be spent before a goal is reached.

Refunds and problems

Refunds and reward problems are handled between the backer and the business owner first — most issues are a delay, and an update usually settles it. If an owner stops responding or a campaign turns out to be misleading, report it and a reviewer will investigate, which can include removing the campaign and revoking the business verification.
