Terms of service

Pledzy is a reward-based community funding platform. Businesses, nonprofits and community groups publish campaigns; backers pledge money and receive a reward in return. A pledge is not an investment, a loan or a charitable donation, and it carries no ownership, interest or financial return.

Pledzy is not a bank, a broker, a funding portal for securities, or a party to the agreement between a backer and a business.

• You must be 18 or older and provide accurate information.
• Accounts are either backer or business accounts and cannot be switched.
• You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping it secure.
• We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or the law.

• Every campaign is reviewed before it appears publicly. We may decline or send back a campaign for any reason.
• Your campaign must describe a real project, a real business, and rewards you intend to deliver.
• You may not promise financial returns, ownership, interest or tax deductibility.
• Campaigns keep what they raise. Missing the goal does not cancel pledges.
• Delivering rewards is your responsibility. Pledzy does not fulfil rewards.
• You are responsible for your own taxes, licences and permits.

• A pledge is a commitment to support a specific campaign in exchange for the reward you selected, if any.
• Rewards, timelines and delivery are set by the business, not by Pledzy.
• A campaign may be delayed, changed or unable to deliver. Back only what you can afford.
• Refunds are handled directly between you and the business. Contact us if a business stops responding.

Pledzy keeps 5% of each pledge, or 3% for verified nonprofit campaigns. Card processing of 2.9% + 30¢ per pledge is paid to the payment provider. Both are deducted from the business's payout; backers pay only the amount they pledge. There is no listing, monthly or withdrawal fee.

• Anything illegal, fraudulent or misrepresented.
• Securities, investment opportunities, lending or profit-sharing.
• Weapons, drugs, adult services, gambling and hate content.
• Campaigns raising on behalf of a business without its authorisation.

You keep ownership of what you post and grant Pledzy permission to display it on the platform. The service is provided as-is; to the extent permitted by law, Pledzy is not liable for undelivered rewards, business failures or losses arising from a campaign.
